Mandurah Passages Youth Centre receives $900,000 in State Government funding boost

A Mandurah homelessness service for young people has received a boost in funding.

Mandurah Passages Youth Centre, operated by St Vincent de Paul, will receive $900,000 to help its work with at-risk young people.

The youth engagement hub, located at Davey Street, provides people aged 12-25 with a safe place to access essential services and support.

The funding was part of a $47.6 million funding boost by the State Government for critical homelessness services across WA announced on January 29.

Mandurah MLA David Templeman said he was “happy to see” the organisation receive the funding.

“I know that this funding will be a massive help to the centre and be invaluable to so many local community members here in Mandurah,” he said.

Dawesville MLA Lisa Munday said the Statewide funding was “fantastic”.

“This significant investment ensures that organisations such as our very own Passages Youth Centre receiving $900,000 will have the secure and ongoing funding necessary to continue delivering critical services for our youth,” she said.

“This action is a testament to the Government’s dedication to addressing homelessness at its roots and creating lasting positive impacts in our communities.”
