Mango Man continues Boglioli link-up with second collection

In a hugely competitive fashion retail sector marked by the arrival of e-tailers such as Shein that are all about ultra-fast, ultra-cheap fashion, the big names of physical fashion retail have increasingly been focusing on more elevated propositions.

Mango Man x Boglioli

And just a week after Spain’s Mango unveiled its Victoria Beckham collab, it has launched its second menswear link-up with Boglioli “to create a complete and versatile wardrobe”.

The retailer said that with this Mango Man collection, it’s “reaffirming its commitment to tailoring in all its versions and consolidating its expertise in fabrics and patterns”.

Mango Man had 550 stores at the end of last year, while Boglioli has around 500 stores and stockists.

It’s the firm’s second collection with the Italian brand that was founded in 1973 and has the legacy of Milanese tailoring as its hallmark.

Mango said that when this is “combined with the modern character of Barcelona’s roots, the result is this unique sartorial collaboration that aims to create a complete and versatile wardrobe that suits the lifestyle of the contemporary man. In addition, the collection is meant to represent a shared attitude, which serves as a common thread and unites different generations”.

The offer features pieces for special occasions but that also adapt to more everyday wear. Mango “has gone all out for tailoring to create classic suits that, in some cases, are broken up with denim shirts or by combining jeans with uncoordinated blazers. Navy blue dominates this part of the collection”.

There’s also a “combination between Boglioli’s more informal character and Mango’s Mediterranean spirit. It includes casual shirts, washed linen suits, casual knitwear, shirt and trouser sets, as well as a commitment to leather”.

The colour palette is very focused on warm weather dressing and starts from earth and sand tones, moving on to vanilla and pink options.

Fabric-wise, there are Italian materials such as cool wools with a very high weave, and light and soft fabrics such as linen, produced in European ateliers.

Two of the Italian suppliers Mango has worked with are Vitale Barberis Canonico and Tessuti di Sondrio.

The collection has launched in Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, the UK and US.
