Aquarabia will be set in Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia and will be part of a the Six Flags theme park being built there.

It will be the first Six Flags park ever developed and constructed outside of North America.

Developers say they hope the new park will draw visitors “from across the globe” with its 22 rides and “family-friendly water-based experiences”.

A statement reads: “Get ready to dive into a world of exhilarating fun and refreshing water escapades like never before.

“With a wide range of thrilling attractions and unique features, Aquarabia promises an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

“The park will be home to never seen before experience and the first training event venue for white-water kayaking in Saudi Arabia and will host the sport during the Asian Games.”

Included in its record-breaking attractions will be the world’s tallest water coaster, the largest drop body slide, the tallest water slide and the longest mat racer.

It will also be home to the first “underwater adventure ride” which will feature fully submersible cars.

Aquarabia will also be home to the country’s first surf pool, where people can try out some watersports like rafting, kayaking, canyoneering, free solo climbing, and cliff jumping.

The park will have an ancient desert springs theme and also promises to offer “immersive, narrative-based design features and attractions” rarely found in water parks.

Five lidos to visit in the UK

According to Blooloop, Qiddiya Investment Company managing director Abdullah Aldawood said: “This announcement marks a significant milestone for Qiddiya City and for the entertainment, tourism and sports sector.

“As we keep expanding our entertainment offering, Aquarabia and Six Flags Qiddiya City will fulfil the diverse entertainment needs of our community, contribute to the diversification of our economy and create job opportunities in the tourism sector.”

Other record breaking rides will be found at the Six Flags theme park, with developers aiming to create something that will draw a new demographic to Qiddiya and Saudi Arabia.

This includes the world’s tallest free-standing shot tower ride, the world’s tallest pendulum ride, the tallest inverted top hat coaster, the tallest tilt coaster and the world’s tallest, fastest, and longest roller coaster, Falcons Flight, which will run parallel to the country’s Formula One track.
