The Mazda Arata concept was revealed alongside the EZ-6 sedan. Both will be built in China by the joint venture company Changan Mazda.

Mazda has confirmed the production version of the Arata is scheduled for mass production by the end of 2025, and will be introduced to the Chinese market.

At this stage it’s unclear if the production version of the Arata concept will be offered outside of China.

“We can’t comment on any future model plans,” said a Mazda Australia spokesperson.

Mazda claims the Arata concept embodies the company’s Kodo design philosophy.

At the front there is a large faux grille with an LED lighting signature that connects both headlights, as well as prominent air intakes.

Around the side are sharp body lines and creases, as well as hidden door handles, large wheels, small side windows, and illuminated Mazda writing on the sill.

The rear of the Arata concept is rather bare but there’s a rear spoiler with a vertical LED running light, as well as subtle LED tail lights and more illuminated Mazda writing.

For now it’s unclear what Mazda will call the production version of the Arata concept. The company has trademarked the name EZ-60 in China which would make sense given Mazda’s existing naming structure.
