No doubt it recently won big at the recently held Metro FM Music Awards. Imithandazo was one of the most nominated songs and won four awards. Kabza De Small and Mthunzi were the night’s biggest winners, and they managed to walk away with R300 000 in cash prizes.

The song features celebrated Amapiano sensations, DJ Maphorisa, Young Stunna, Sizwe Alkaline and Umthakathi Kush. The song has undoubtedly been making headlines since it was revealed that it is the most South African-streamed song on Spotify.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, MDN News posted, “Kabza De Small & Mthunzi “Imithandazo” is now the no.1 most streamed song of all time on South African Spotify, surpassing Mnike by Tyler ICU.”

The song was released on 22 December 2023 on YouTube and has 26 million views. One YouTube Imithandazo managed to surpass the one million views mark on YouTube a few days after its release.

Shortly after the release, Amapiano King Kabza De Small took to Instagram to celebrate the song after its one million views mark. He shared a screenshot showing the song received one million views in five days. The award-winning muso captioned the ‘Danko’, a slang word for thank you.

NEW ALBUM ON THE CARDS

However, Kabza De Small took to social media last month to reveal a new Scorpion Kings album on the cards. Taking to X, he posted, “Scorpion Kings album dropping soon.”

News of the album came amid their fallout rumours. DJ Maphorisa also confirmed the news by taking a swipe at popular X user Chris Excel, who made it known that the two had gone separate ways.

DJ Maphorisa posted, “Areng Chris Excel Papta. Does he know the deals we are cooking? Big Bosses are waiting for our Signatures. Scorpion Kings Dropping Soon THE PYRAMIDS.”

However, the duo has yet to announce the dates of the launch. Against the news, Mzansi was more than convinced that their rumoured fallout might be a marketing strategy.

Rumour mill has it that the duo had a fallout in 2023. However, earlier this year, ZiMoja reported that their fallout came against the backdrop of DJ Maphorisa’s Instagram Live sessions.
