Mr Chow Enters the Fashion Scene With a Limited-edition Collection

Mr Chow is extending its culinary expertise to fashion.

The upscale restaurant founded by Michael “M” Chow and frequented by celebrities, artists and tastemakers, is introducing a clothing collection.

Available to shop online and at Mr Chow’s in New York, the exclusive limited-edition line features a selection of unisex apparel that aims to embody the essence of Mr Chow’s brand. Mr Chow is known for its authentic Beijing cuisine.

Among the offerings are T-shirts, hoodies, hats and joggers, in black-and-white. Every garment is pre-shrunk to ensure fit.

Michael and Vanessa Chow have enlisted the expertise of Henry Viens and Liza Perez of Doheny Drive, the Los Angeles-based luxury apparel manufacturing and marketing company to create the entirely Made in L.A. collection.

“The collection is the culmination of a labor of love infused with a deep admiration for fashion and art,” said Vanessa Chow. “It’s a manifestation of a vision I’ve long nurtured that embodies creative spirit and bold ambition.”

“Working in collaboration with Michael is a fusion of our shared love for artistic expression, and this is only a prelude to collections, collaborations and visionary ideas that await. The goal is to redefine luxury and leave a mark on the fashion world and beyond,” she said.

“This collection line is nothing short of meticulous detail and striving for excellence,” added Michael “M” Chow.

The Chows will host a private party for the collection in New York Thursday night.

Vanessa Chow designed each garment to feature the iconic Mr Chow logo. Adorning the back of the T-shirts and hoodies is the evocative 1997 artwork by Helmut Newton, “Doctor M. Chow, Operating.” Pictured in the image is Dr. Chow performing the art of acupuncture on a model. There is also a design featuring the famed portrait of Michael Chow by Andy Warhol, taken in 1985. Mr Chow collaborated with the Andy Warhol Foundation to license the apparel showcasing Warhol’s work, which will be displayed on white and black hoodies.

The Andy Warhol hoodie is $325, the Helmut Newton hoodie is $225, the Andy Warhol T-shirt is $125, the Helmut Newton T-shirt is $95, the hats are $110 and the joggers are $200. Joggers are available in XS to XXL, hoodies are XS to XXL, T-shirts are S to XL and hats are one size.

The company will launch limited pop-up shops in the U.S. at Mr Chow locations including TriBeCa and 57th Street in New York beginning Thursday. The collection is also available at mrchow.com.

Founded in London in 1968 by Michael Chow, the brand quickly became synonymous with culinary excellence and expanded to cities such as New York, Beverly Hills, Miami, Las Vegas, Dubai and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
