Another day, another multi-millionaire slams the poors for not working hard enough.
This time it’s PR maven Roxy Jacenko who is clearly unhappy with Australia’s new laws giving workers the right to switch off after hours.
Ignoring the fact that Jacenko now calls Singapore home, the businesswoman took to Instagram to share a screenshot of the news to her stories.
“Suppose next you will also be able to ignore the boss on the job too lol. Good job I work remotely these days,” she wrote.
Jacenko owns and runs the global creative talent management group The Ministry of Talent which specialises in digital influencers.
The talent list includes influencers Michael Brunelli, Emilee Hembrow, Nick Kyrgios’ girlfriend Costeen Hatzi and her own daughter ‘The Tween Entrepreneur’ Pixie Curtis.
The marketing maven founded her company Sweaty Betty in 2004 as a “desperate to succeed” 24-year-old.
The now 42-year-old with a talent for self-promotion started her working life at McDonald’s and “barely graduated high school”.
Jacenko took a job at the clothing company Diesel and worked her way up to marketing manager despite having no formal education or experience.
She then struck out on her own and began Sweaty Betty.
The firm was once rumoured to have an annual turnover of more than $10 million.
This comes after WA building boss Dale Alcock unleashed on Thursday, calling the rules as “a load of sh*t”.
Flight Centre chief executive Graham Turner, 74, echoed these views.
“From our point of view, I can’t see why people can’t disconnect if they want to anyway. All they have to do is switch your phone off or switch your laptop off,” he told The Australian Business Network, adding that the proposed changes were “overkill”.
Jacenko is frequently in the news for throwing lavish parties for her children and her million-dollar mansion.
She has previously slammed Aussies for their “nine-to-five mentality’ saying they are unwilling to work hard and should be more like Chinese workers.
Jacenko has also called workers lazy and entitled for wanted a work-life balance.
Her husband, Oliver Curtis, was imprisoned in June 2016 for insider trading.
Jacenko had a reality TV show in 2019 called I am Roxy which aired to lukewarm reviews.
