mumbai pune: Mumbai: Jealous of childhood buddy’s success, man calls police, says friend is a ‘terrorist’

The Mumbai Police crime branch is investigating a phone call that reported a techie’s involvement in terror activities. As per a TOI report, the Pune police control room received the call at 1.10 am on Tuesday, with the caller identifying himself as Arth Panchal. Providing details about the alleged techie and his workplace in Mumbai, Panchal’s call set off a series of actions.

However, upon investigation, it has come to light that the caller’s motives were rooted in personal grudges. Investigation has revealed that Arth Panchal and the techie were childhood friends, and sources suggest that the freind was jealous of the techie’s career achievements.

To verify the claims, a Mumbai police team was dispatched to the specified company’s location in Worli. Regrettably, the premises were found to be closed during the nocturnal hours, leading to a more in depth investigation by the crime branch team the following morning.

Upon visiting the company’s office, the crime branch team enquired the company officials to gather insights. During questioning, police learnt that the techid had already left the company several years ago and was currently employed in London. The techie’s side of the story emerged as he confirmed that Arth Panchal was indeed a childhood friend. In a candid conversation, the techie acknowledged the history and informed that jealousy might have fueled Panchal’s call.

A Mumbai crime branch officer told TOI, “After reaching out to the techie, he recognized the name of the caller and confirmed their long-standing friendship. He mentioned that envy could have been the driving factor behind the call.” Attempts to contact Arth Panchal were met with no response, and at present, no official FIR has been registered concerning this matter.
