NAAC peer team visits FM University for assessment

Bhubaneswar: A six-member team from the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) reached the Fakir Mohan University, Balasore on Monday for a three-day assessment starting from Tuesday. After the assessment is over, the institution will get NAAC grade.
The peer team’s primary mission is to precisely assess and evaluate the qualitative metrics outlined in the Self Study Report (SSR), which has been submitted to NAAC by the university.
University vice-chancellor Santosh Kumar Tripathy said the visit marks a significant milestone as part of the second cycle of the NAAC assessment of the university. The initial cycle of the NAAC assessment was conducted in the year 2016, making this second round of assessment an important benchmark in the university’s pursuit of excellence in higher education, he added.
He said the university extended a warm welcome to the NAAC peer team. “The university has left no stone unturned in preparing for this visit, ensuring that all necessary arrangements have been meticulously executed to facilitate a comprehensive evaluation process,” he added.
As part of the assessment, the NAAC team members are likely to visit various departments and inspect the facilities available within the university campus. They will engage with key university officials, including the vice-chancellor, director of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), director of research, registrar, controller of examinations, comptroller of finance, and other administrative personnel.
In addition to engaging with university administrators, the NAAC peer team will also interact with a diverse cross-section of the FM University community. This includes students, alumni, faculty members, and non-teaching staff, fostering a comprehensive understanding of the university’s strengths and areas for improvement, said the official sources.
They may inspect curricular aspects, teaching, learning and evaluation, research, consultancy and extensions, infrastructure and learning resources, student support and progression, governance, leadership and management along with institutional values and best practices.
