Newly Added Must-Have Pieces To Existing Jewelry Collections

For Marla Aaron and Nouvel Heritage collectors, you will be happy to learn that they have added new items to their existing collections. The pieces have just been launched and once you see them, you might want the instant gratification of purchasing them immediately or, at least adding them to your jewelry wish lists.

Locking It In

Marla Aaron has once again ingeniously found a non-jewelry item that she turned into one of the most intricate of her locks to date. She is a true innovator in her search for hardware and other items of bygone eras to create contemporary fine jewelry locks that also act as charm holders and centerpieces for necklaces and bracelets. Aaron describes how she found the inspiration for her newest lock, “two weird little 17th century objects that I found on Portobello road has inspired a new mechanism that we lovingly call the “Musgrave” after the name engraved on it. What caught my interest specifically was the idea of the two disks that spin in opposite directions to release a side of the piece, which led us to the conclusion that it makes a perfect lock but with some modifications of size and dimension and with a lever like handle that releases on the side. When we saw the prototype and the fantastic tension of the ‘disks,’ we saw multiple possibilities in metals and gemstones.” These include 18K rose, yellow and white gold and sterling silver. Gemstone options include diamond, ruby, mixed sapphire, lapis, turquoise, agate and sunstone.

Hoop Dreams

The newly launched Nouvel Heritage Hoops are the earring equivalent of the house’s iconic Mood Bangles. The French jewelry house was founded in 2015 by Camille Parruitte McKenna, a Parisian living in New York. She started the collection by altering the codes of classic jewelry with unexpected, daring and fresh twists, rendering the collection modern and relevant for today’s jewelry enthusiasts. Pieces are made in France in the ateliers of the MCGP group, the Maison’s parent company. The brand’s best-selling items continue to be its Mood Bangles, launched in 2017. Five iterations of the chic, timeless yet edgy bracelets have been crafted into hoop earrings, which Parruitte McKenna explains “draws its inspiration from elements of the punk movement and revisits piercing as a signature detail of the collection.” All styles are available in 18K rose, yellow and white gold.

Set with baguette, brilliant or marquise-cut diamonds, the new Mood hoop earrings are lightweight yet have a substantial look— each evokes a different feeling that will bring out the wearer’s individuality.

Monday Morning Mood hoops are offered in yellow rose and white gold and blend boldness and simplicity. Monday Morning Mood double hoops feature a trompe-l’œil effect.

This style plays on the concept of stacking, creating the illusion of a double ear piercing. Eternity Tuxedo Mood hoops are fully pavéd and play up the contrast between the hoop’s taut lines and the diamonds’ brilliance.

Dinner Date Mood hoops are simultaneously minimalist and diamond intense and revisits the baguette-cut diamond in an ultra-modern version. The Under The Stars Mood hoops are inspired by the City of Light, where they were crafted. They are set with marquise-cut and brilliant-cut diamonds and are designed to give the sense of “an evening stroll through Paris by night.”
