NFL bettors backing Houston in Divisional Round

The Texans are getting a lot of love from sports bettors ahead of their matchup against the Ravens on Saturday.

Houston, a 9.5-point underdog, is garnering 62 percent of both bets and the handle against the spread, according to Action Network, which is easily the most popular side for this weekend’s divisional round slate.

The Texans are even more popular at DraftKings Sportsbook, specifically, with bettors there wagering 60 percent of the handle and 73 percent of bets on Houston at +9.5 as of Thursday morning.

The C.J. Stroud-led Texans will head to Baltimore as near-double-digit underdogs after upsetting the Browns in their wild-card matchup.

Houston was a two-point home underdog in that game, which turned out to be a 45-14 Texans blowout.

Public bettors generally faded the Texans in that game with the Browns 60 percent of the bets and 54 percent of the money against the spread, according to Action Network.

If it holds, this week will be the biggest underdog the Texans have been since Week 1 against these very Ravens in Baltimore when they were, again, +9.5. The Ravens won that game 25-9.

Both of these teams have been excellent ATS all season.

The Ravens’ 11-6 record ATS is the fourth-best record in the NFL, including playoffs, while the Texans’ 10-8 mark is tied for the eighth-best with four other teams.

Betting on the NFL?

Though the public is all-in on the Texans this week, it’s the Ravens who are a true Super Bowl contender, according to oddsmakers.

Baltimore has the second-best odds to win the Lombardi Trophy (+290) behind the San Francisco 49ers (+175).

The Texans are the biggest long shot to be Super Bowl champs on the board at +2800.
