The 2023 NFL preseason fully gets underway this week after last week’s Hall of Fame Game. Thursday starts the week with the Houston Texans playing at the New England Patriots. We might get our first look at first-round pick C.J. Stroud in several series. The Minnesota Vikings travel to Seattle to play the Seahawks in the late game on Thursday.
No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young will start for the Carolina Panthers against the New York Jets. Carolina is favored by 3.5 points at home, but the Jets already played last week and could be a step ahead of the Panthers as they are deeper into training camp.
In case you forgot, the Baltimore Ravens haven’t lost in the preseason since 2015 and are riding a 23-game win streak. They’re big favorites in Saturday’s game against the Eagles, which are 1-4-1 in preseason games under Nick Sirianni.
The second-biggest spread of the week features the Denver Broncos playing the Arizona Cardinals. It’s safe to say that new Broncos coach Sean Peyton wants to make a statement about his new team. Denver is favored by 5.5 points. The Broncos have Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci in their quarterback room along with Russell Wilson so all three quarterbacks bring some NFL experience. Peyton is 29-31 in the preseason, so he has no track record of trying to win big.
A lot of games will be aired live on NFL Network, while other games will be live on NFL+. If you live in an NFL market, those games are carried by local TV affiliates.
