NEW DELHI: The National Informatics Centre (NIC) has announced the results for the recruitment of Scientific and Technical Posts for the year 2023. The list of provisionally selected candidates for the positions of Scientist E and Scientist F in NIC, advertised under NIELIT/NIC/2022/2, has been uploaded on the official portal at https://www.calicut.nielit.in/nic21/.
Out of the 598 vacancies available, a total of 329 candidates have been selected through the rigorous selection process. This selection procedure involved a combination of written examinations and interviews. For the posts of Scientist B and Scientific Officer/Engineer-SB, candidates underwent both a written examination and an interview, while for Scientific/Technical Assistant-A positions, selection was based solely on the written examination.
The written examination was conducted online, consisting of 120 multiple-choice questions to be answered within a maximum of 3 hours. The question paper covered both technical and generic areas, with 65% of questions from the former and 35% from the latter. Each correct answer carried one mark, with a penalty of 0.25 marks for each incorrect response.
To qualify the written examination, candidates needed to achieve a minimum of 50% for General/EWS, 40% for OBC, and 30% for SC/ST/PWD categories. These criteria applied to both the overall marks and individual sections of the examination.
