‘Not breaking up’: Young couple divides opinions after deciding to live in different apartments

A young couple has left people confused with their outrageous new living arrangements.

Maiah Police, based in Austin, has been living with her boyfriend for over three years. They currently share an apartment.

However the 26-year-old recently revealed via TikTok that her 24-year-old lover would be moving out.

But Police told her 112.4k followers they aren’t “breaking up” and that it’s just a “new phase” for them.

The TikToker said her partner will be moving in with his little brother, something he’s always “dreamed” of doing.

She agrees that since they’re both still young – “now’s the time to do it”.

Police said she was a bit taken aback at first, but then decided living apart is a “great idea”.

“When we come together it’s more intentional time,” she added.

Police ended the video by saying she’s looking forward to the “fun chapter”, and that her boyfriend will “only be a mile away”.

But not everybody was convinced.

Reaching over seven million views, many were quick to share their thoughts on the couple’s bold new plan.

“Why didn’t you guys just ask the brother to move in with you guys. Then they’re living together and so are you,” one asked.

“I want to be this delulu,” one cheekily added.

“Ladies, compose yourselves and let her do her thing. It’s a canon event and we can’t interfere,” a third chimed in.

Others were a little more brutal.

“I call this quiet quitting a relationship,” one commented.

“This is a good thing, you are so young. But this is absolutely the first steps of a break up. And that’s okay,” another shared.

A third shared the same sentiment, adding: “My husband moved out last year too girl! It worked out really well for me. I’m now divorced and dating someone who actually likes me.”
