Olivia Rodrigo cancels upcoming Australian media tour due to ‘unforeseen circumstances’

Aussies have been left gutted after American pop star Olivia Rodrigo’s scheduled trip down under was cancelled.

The 20-year-old was planning a promotional tour, including an appearance on the Today show as well as a fan Q&A event to promote the release of her brand new album, GUTS.

But it wasn’t to be, with the Daily Telegraph reporting O-Rod’s media endeavour was canned due to “unforeseen circumstances”.

“Olivia is devastated that she won’t be able to make it, however she’s so excited to see her Australian Livies in 2024,” a Universal Music Australia representative told the media company.

When the tour was announced on September 1, the good 4 u singer told fans she couldn’t wait to get “down” to Australia.

“I’ve never been and I’m so excited to meet everyone. I’ll see you soon Livies,” she said.

And maybe she still will see her eager Aussie fans soon.

The three-time Grammy winner has just announced her global GUTS tour, which will see her travel America, Europe the UK next year.

She shared the news via Instagram to her 32.4 million followers, and the self-confessed “spicy pisces” has Australians hopeful that down-under tour dates will be added.

“I KNEW THIS WAS COMING!!!” commented Perth influencer agency founder Zak Hasleby, adding “Please do Perth Australia ily”.

Meanwhile, radio royalty Kent Andrew ‘Smallzy’ Small kept it short and sweet.

“Drop the AUS tour dates,” he said.
