An OnlyFans star has claimed a retail giant rejected her job application because of her many visible tattoos and piercings.
Ash Putnam took to social media to voice her frustration after getting denied a job role at TJ Maxx in the US saying she believes the company rejected her because of her appearance.
The 23-year-old is heavily tattooed with dark Satanic imagery and has at least 11 piercings on her face including her nose and cheeks.
Ms Putnam said that after she received an automated job application rejection email, she paid the store a visit in person seeking an explanation.
The X-rated adult content creator said a TJ Maxx worker told her she didn’t “have enough experience” and there were other people better suited for the job.
When Ms Putnam asked if her tattoos were the reason for her rejection, the employee assured her “that wasn’t the reason” but she believed that wasn’t the case.
“I don’t feel like that’s true, but whatever, I’ll leave it at that,” she said in the TikTok.
“I hate that my tattoos are such a defining factor for me getting a job or not. Like, just because I have tattoos doesn’t mean I’m not gonna be a good worker.
“I do not understand that at all. Because quite literally, some of the most smart, intelligent people I’ve ever met are people with tattoos and piercings.”
Some of the eight million people who had viewed her video took to the comments section with mixed opinions.
“HR supervisor here. There is no way any company would put you in front of customers like TJ maxx,” one user said.
Another said: “I used to be a hiring manager for tjmaxx and I will tell you it’s the facial piercings and tattoos.”
She later explained she didn’t “need” the TJ Maxx job but had wanted it to supplement her income to pay off debts more quickly.
Ms Putnam advertises her OnlyFans on her TikTok and Instagram and has spoken about having enough money for extensive plastic surgery on top of her external body modifications.
She also spoke about her annoyance with companies wanting to see prior relevant work experience for entry-level, minimum-wage jobs.
“I’m just wondering how teenagers and young adults who haven’t had a job before, how are they supposed to get employed if these places are only hiring people with experience?” she said.
“So younger people just can’t get a job because they haven’t worked enough? So, like, they’ll deny a 16-year-old a job because they don’t have enough work experience?
“Like, it just doesn’t make any sense to me.
In a follow-up TikTok video, she mentioned she also delivers for UberEats.
