Patrick Mahomes’ dad can travel to Super Bowl 2024 after arrest

Patrick Mahomes’ father will not be barred from traveling to Las Vegas this week to see his son’s Chiefs take on the 49ers in Super Bowl 2024, despite his arrest on a DWI charge eight days before kickoff.

Patrick Mahomes Sr., a former Mets pitcher, can potentially watch the 28-year-old quarterback in Sunday’s championship contest at Allegiant Stadium as a travel ban has not been enacted as part of the bond conditions, according to reports and documents obtained by The Post.

Mahomes Sr., who was arrested Saturday on a charge of DWI for the third time or more in Tyler, Texas, is prohibited from possessing or consuming alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs and is to “submit to testing on a random basis,” in addition to installing an interlocking device on a vehicle.

Bond was set at $10,000.

The elder Mahomes received his second DWI charge in 2018 and served 40 days in jail on weekends in 2019 and 2020.

The news of Mahomes Sr.’s arrest comes with son Patrick set to make his fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years.

The two-time league MVP won his first Super Bowl with the Chiefs in February 2020 when Kansas City took down San Francisco, 31-20, in Miami Gardens.

He earned his second Super Bowl victory last year when the Chiefs defeated the Eagles, 38-35, which Mahomes Sr. was on hand to watch in Glendale, Ariz.

In addition to the Chiefs quarterback, Mahomes Sr. shares son Jackson with ex-wife Randi.

They divorced in 2006, according to People.

The younger Mahomes and the Chiefs touched down in Las Vegas on Sunday before Super Bowl Opening Night, which gets underway Monday.
