Perth weather: Metro area set for chilly, but sunny weekend

If you thought it was freezing last night, you weren’t far off.

The temperature got down to 3.7C in Perth on Friday morning, and as low as 1C in Jandakot.

And it’s not getting much warmer for the weekend.

“It will be pretty cold tonight, and tomorrow especially,” Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Bob Tarr said of Friday night and Saturday morning.

The silver lining — the sun will be out, making for “quite nice” weather in the middle of the day, on Saturday, Sunday, and into Monday.

“It should be a really nice weekend, actually,” Tarr said.

The overnight temperatures at the moment are much lower than the average of 8.4C for August, so you’d be forgiven if you’ve got an extra doona or two on the bed still.
