In the comments section, thirsty fans vied for his attention.

@bloodlust_moon: “Come arrest me, please.”

@salonagovender1: “I went against a restraining order.”

@x_x_uma_x: “Hey, officer. They robbed me last night.. but I don’t care about the thieves. I just need your emotional support”.

As previously reported, Devan Cox – of the Flying Squad in East London – has faced a disciplinary hearing for posting pictures of himself in uniform on his popular social media accounts, which include Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

“No member may display a profile photo of themselves in uniform, any police weapons, logos or an avatar on their private social media,” said police spokesperson Colonel Priscilla Naidu.

Speaking to Algoa FM, Devan Cox claimed he had taken his viral snap en route to work after working out at his local Virgin Active gym.

He said: “On my off days, I try and keep fit. I run, cycle, and swim. I want to live a healthy life.”

And the question many ladies, and some gents want to know – is he single?

He told the Port Elizabeth radio station: “I’m not married, but I am a father of two boys. So a single dad”.

When asked if he’s ever had a criminal resist an arrest, or single him out to handcuff them, Devan responded: “Maybe after this”.

WHAT DOES SAPS SAY?

According to the National Instruction 5 of 2017 media communication in the South African Police, police who post pictures of themselves in uniform – without the permission of their employers – commit misconduct.

Police are also not permitted to display any official insignia, badges or logos on their private social media account.
