The debacle surrounding Sandfire Resources’ destruction of Aboriginal artefact is ratcheting up, as The West Australian can reveal potential “heritage disturbance” concerns were escalated internally during the miner’s failed attempt to sell the DeGrussa copper operation.

Last week, Sandfire told the Australian Securities Exchange it had destroyed Aboriginal artefacts several times more than five years ago, without reporting it to the State Government.
