Although most people believe the ongoing feud between Prince Harry and Prince William is because of Meghan Markle, a palace insider claims it started years before the couple even started dating, The Sun reports.

It seems the feud between Prince Harry and Prince William just won’t get resolved. And even though some are holding out hope now that both brothers are in the UK after King Charles III’s cancer diagnosis, a palace insider says it is not all about Meghan Markle.
According to The Sun, the brothers’ relationship started to show cracks in 2018 after they reportedly grew apart. Now, a palace insider claims that the rift began because of the princes’ different approach to wildlife conservation as part of their shared charitable foundation.
In an interview with the Times, the palace insider said the brothers have opposing views on managing projects in Africa. While the Prince of Wales wants to support “community-led initiatives” to help local people conserve the land, Prince Harry wants to take a more “interventionist approach.”
Express reports that the princes have regularly disagreed on reducing poaching and saving endangered species in Africa.
The publication reports that Harry is reportedly working on a new Netflix documentary about his conservation work in Africa.

The Duchess of Sussex might not be the main reason for the brothers’ rift, but there is definite animosity between the two because of her. In his tell-all memoir Spare, Harry revealed that the Prince of Wales “knocked him to the floor” during an argument about Meghan, the Guardian reports.
William reportedly called Meghan “rude” and “difficult”. He also grabbed Harry by the collar, ripping his necklace.
