Prince William and Carole Middleton Reportedly Step Out to a Pub in Norfolk

Ever since Kate Middleton announced a cancer diagnosis last month, she and husband Prince William have been spending time with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, during their Easter break from school. The family has been staying at Anmer Hall, their country home on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk, but William has taken some time away from home during their stay. According to the Daily Mails Richard Eden, William was spotted at a nearby pub with his mother-in-law Carole Middleton.

“It was all very low-key with no great fanfare,” a patron told the tabloid. “He just walked in and through the pub. He appeared to be with Carole Middleton.” On Wednesday, Eden added that Middleton is staying with the Wales family during their break from school. Classes begin for the Summer term at Lambrook School on April 17.

Kate announced her diagnosis in a video shared with news organizations on March 22, after weeks away from the spotlight as she recovered from abdominal surgery. In her emotional remarks, she said she was undergoing “preventative chemotherapy” but did not disclose which type of cancer the treatment is for.

Carole has been helping her daughter’s family as she recovered from the surgery and began treatment for cancer. On March 4, she was photographed behind the wheel of a Range Rover with Kate in the passenger seat. Last month, a Middleton family friend told The Independent that the Middleton matriarch was taking an active role in supporting her daughter’s family through Kate’s cancer treatment.

“Carole has been the driving force keeping the family together with minimum fuss and maximum modesty,” the source said. “She’s ferried and fetched George, Louis and Charlotte, taken them to school sports matches and given them endless support. She’s been a real Mary Poppins-like figure.”
