DOHA, April 27: The Qatar Olympic Committee is gearing up to submit its bid to host the 2036 Olympics to the International Olympic Committee soon. According to reports from the Qatari newspaper Al-Watan, the decision to compile the bid has been made, with expectations for a comprehensive proposal encompassing all aspects of hosting, involving various relevant government bodies.
The move follows Qatar’s notable success in hosting numerous international events and championships. Meanwhile, South Korea, India, Egypt, and Germany have expressed their intentions to compete in the bidding process, while Mexico has opted out. Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, emphasized in earlier statements to the press, “The Middle East has never had the opportunity to host the Olympic Games before. The Olympic rings stand as symbols of peace, unity, and hope for all peoples worldwide, including those in our region.
