Rachael Finch hits back at claims she’s endangering her kids through ‘disordered eating’ after posting a video of her ‘naked’ burgers which didn’t include bread

Aussie food blogger and model Racheal Finch has responded to claims she’s an ‘almond mum’ after feeding her kids “naked” burgers.

A recent video posted to TikTok triggered a portion of the fitness fanatic’s followers after it depicted her preparing a healthy alternative to a classic meal — with the omission of one key ingredient.

“Naked burgers. Family fave!” she captioned the post.

As Finch held the finished burger to the camera, viewers were divided by her choice to replace the burger staple of bread with iceberg lettuce.

“Almond mom!!!! What’s wrong with bread?” one person commented.

Another follower questioned why the mother would ditch the carby staple altogether when healthy variations existed.

“These look really yum. What is wrong with a whole meal roll, though? I’m just curious if there’s something wrong with that because that’s what we have when we have burgers,” they commented.

Finch’s army of fans came to her aid, poking holes at the logic of those who publicly criticised her.

“If you served patties and salad, no one would say a thing, but put the patty IN the salad, and EVERYONE RIOTS!! (these look delicious)“.

Since the post, shared on April 15, the Kissed Earth Supplements founder has ironically used the derogatory term “almond mum” to promote other videos.

She opted to re-post the polarising clip to Instagram a week later, responding to claims she was endangering her children.

“Apparently, I’m giving my kids ‘disordered eating’ by making them naked burgers. According to commentary on my last TikTok video, anyway.“Gee, wiz. It’s funny you know — they wouldn’t blink an eye if I ordered cheeseburgers and fries from a fast food chain and put that on the table.

“But homemade naked burgers full of vegetables will create psychological damage? Go figure.”

Marrying husband Michael Miziner in 2013 — whom she met on Dancing with the Stars — the popular mum then added to her Instagram grid with a photo embracing her children Violet and Dominic.

She included a definition of the term, which she’d received as equally “hilarious” as it was “nasty”.

“Someone officially labelled me an ‘almond mum’ this week. Definition, according to Google — is a parent who follows incredibly strict or dangerously unhealthy eating habits and attempts to force them on their children.

“This was because I made naked burgers for dinner (meat patties & veggies wrapped in a lettuce cup).“Whilst it’s downright nasty, it’s also absurdly hilarious. I’ve become a pro at emotionally responding to these comments now.

“I’ve had a giggle with a lot of you on what type of Mum you would be if you were labelled by a food 😂😂. Comment what type of food **** Mum you would be? 🍓🥥🥭🍋🥝”.

Finch and her husband arrived in Guangzhou, China, earlier this week to pursue new packaging opportunities for her Kissed Earth brand.
