Rashee Rice is cooperating with law enforcement in Dallas following the multicar crash over the weekend that involved a car leased or registered in his name, Rice’s attorney said in a statement Monday.
Authorities in Dallas told the Dallas Morning News on Sunday that they were looking to speak with the Chiefs wide receiver as part of their investigation into the six-car crash that occurred Saturday evening.
“On behalf of Rashee Rice, his thoughts are with everyone impacted by the automobile accident on Saturday,” attorney Royce West said in a statement to ESPN. “Rashee is cooperating with local authorities and will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.”
Police responded to the multi-car crash on North Central Expressway in Dallas at 6:20 p.m. when the drivers in a Chevrolet Corvette and Lamborghini were speeding and lost control of their vehicles and crashed “causing a chain reaction collision involving four other vehicles,” a police spokeswoman told the Morning News.

The occupants in the Corvette and Lamborghini ran from the crash site and a call sheet by the Dallas Police — viewed by the Morning News — listed Rice as the one police believe was at the wheel of the Corvette.
Authorities have not released the identities of anyone involved in the crash, and there were no serious injuries as a result.
Two people were treated at the scene and two others were taken to the hospital.
The Chiefs have not commented on the incident, but team president Mark Donovan told KCMO Talk Radio’s “Mundo in the Morning” that the team was gathering the facts.
“In all these situations you have to wait until you have all the facts and frankly, we don’t have all the facts at this point,” Donovan said. “The one comforting fact that we do have is that there was a multi-car crash in Texas, in Dallas, and fortunately, it doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt and we should be grateful for that. We’ll get to the bottom of it, we’ll gather the facts and we’ll react accordingly.”
Rice is from North Richland Hills, Texas, which is a suburb of Forth Worth, and he’s coming off a rookie season where he finished second on the Chiefs in receptions (79) and receiving yards (938) and had seven touchdown catches to his name.
Rice had an additional 262 receiving yards and a touchdown during the Chiefs Super Bowl run.
