Ronaldo Nazario Makes ‘One-word’ Prediction On Premier League Title Race

Ronaldo Nazario, widely considered to be the greatest number nine in the history of football, has given his prediction on who he believes will triumph at the end of the ongoing Premier League season. Liverpool, Arsenal and defending champions Manchester City are currently involved in what seems to be a three-horse race for the Premier League title.

The FIFA World Cup winner recently made a bold prediction backing his former Barcelona teammate Pep Guardiola to clinch yet another Premier League title with his epoch-making Man City side. Ronaldo reportedly said “City” when he was asked by English publication Daily Mail about which team he thought would win the league this season.

Manchester City have won five titles in the last six seasons, with Liverpool the only team to break the Guardiola-coached side’s dominance. Jurgen Klopp’s men won their first-ever league title in the Premier League in the COVID-affected 2019-20, one season after they won the Champions League and fell just two points short of Manchester City’s record-breaking haul of 100 points. With the German coach having already announced that he will be stepping down from the role and departing Anfield come the end of the season, he will be aiming to leave Merseyside on a high.

“We have 10 games to play, so obviously nothing is decided. There are plenty of games. The next one in the league is Brighton at home, traditionally it is not our favourite opponent. It is not that we think, ‘Thank God it’s Brighton.’ They play really good football and that is a tough game for us. At one point we play Tottenham here, we have to go to Aston Villa and stuff like this,” Klopp had claimed after Liverpool 1-1 draw at Anfield last weekend.

Currently, Arsenal find themselves at the top of the Premier League standings with 64 points from 28 games. The Gunners are experiencing a title-deciding resurgence, winning all their eight league games in 2024. Liverpool and Manchester City are in second and third place, respectively. Liverpool are tied on points with Arsenal but the reds have an inferior goal difference, while Manchester City are a point behind the top two.
