Santangelo collects 100th hit, Dayton outlasts Middlesex – Softball recap

Alyssa Santangelo recorded her 100th hit for Dayton in its 6-4 victory against Middlesex in Springfield.

The sides were tied at two entering the bottom of the fourth before Dayton (13-5) scored a pair of runs and one in the fifth. Middlesex (9-6) cut it to a one-run game in the sixth but Dayton responded with a run.

Angela Gatto also went 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs for Dayton while Olivia Douglas had two RBI. Julianna Santangelo pitched a complete game two-hitter with two earned runs, five walks, and nine strikeouts.

Emily Godfrey led Middlesex (9-6) with a two-run home run and scored a run.
