Scottish airport lands new Emirates flights with state-of-the-art airplane

EMIRATES is preparing to launch a new route between Scotland and Dubai with its new planes.

The UAE-based airline has announced nine destinations that will be part of its Airbus A350 services.

Airports across Europe, the Gulf, Middle East, and Asia will be part of its new flight network. 

The state-of-the-art A350 aircraft will begin flights for Emirates on September 15 this year.

Edinburgh Airport has been named among its first raft of short-to-medium haul destinations.

Services between the capital and Dubai are expected to commence on November 4.

The A350 has been hailed by Emirates for its ‘spacious and quiet cabin, high ceilings, expansive bin space, and customised mood lighting designed to reduce fatigue and jet lag’.

More details about the seat features and other cabin details will be announced in the coming months.

Emirates will add 10 new A350s to its fleet by March 31 next year, as it has 65 of the aircraft on order.

The aircraft will offer three cabin classes, with 32 next generation business class seats, 21 premium economy seats, and 259 ‘generously pitched’ economy class seats.

Bahrain will be the first destination for the airline’s latest aircraft, with premium economy seats available on Middle East and Gulf Cooperation Council routes for the first time. 

Other routes that will be rolled out this year will include Lyon in France, Bologna in Italy, Kuwait, Muscat in Oman, Mumbai and Ahmedabad in India, Colombo in Sri Lanka, 

Premium economy tickets will be available on 42 destinations by February next year.
