Screen Queen: Depp V Heard is smashing the ratings. But do we REALLY need to relive all the drama?

My sister and I grew up idolising Johnny Depp. We knew everything about him, including his favourite colour (black!), his birthday (June 9!), his mum’s name (Betty Sue! He has a tattoo tribute to her on his arm) — even his star sign (a Gemini sun, with Leo rising!). Ok, I had to look that last one up, but you get the drift — we were obsessed.

Which is maybe why I’ve been averting my eyes these past few years as he’s publicly unravelled. And yet, it all seeped in. It was simply impossible to ignore the constant news reports and salacious details that emerged via the trial — and it made me sad. So sad, I decided to put off watching Netflix’s latest three-part doco series, which takes a look at the infamous “trial by Tik Tok” that played out.
