Havaldar: The selection process consists of three stages:
- Computer-based exam (CBE)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET) or Physical Standard Test (PST): Only candidates who pass both the CBE and PET/PST will be considered for the Havaldar post. However, if a candidate qualifies for the MTS post but not Havaldar, their application for MTS will still be valid.
Pay Scale
The SSC MTS pay scale falls under Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200) with an additional Grade Pay of Rs. 1800 per month [based on the 7th Central Pay Commission]. This translates to an approximate in-hand salary range of Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 22,000 per month.
