St. Joseph (Hamm.), Egg Harbor win at South Jersey Classic – Softball roundup

Ava Fisher threw a three-hitter, striking out 15 and walking one, as St. Joseph (Hamm.) blanked Paul VI 7-0 to take the fifth-place game at the South Jersey Classic in Hammonton.

Fisher also finished 2-for-4 with three RBI and a home run while Abby Willis went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI for St. Joseph (13-6), which has won three of its last four games. Lanie Giovinazzi scored two runs and Kylie Tomlin was 2-for-4.

Camryn Harry and Danielle Audet each collected a hit for Paul VI (12-8).

Egg Harbor 12, Hightstown 2

Egg Harbor jumped out to a 6-2 lead in the third inning on its way to a 12-2 win to take fifth place over Hightstown in the South Jersey Classic in Hammonton.

Egg Harbor (11-7), which also scored three runs apiece in the fifth and sixth innings, stopped a three-game losing streak with the win.

For Hightstown (9-9), Kady Olsen drove in two runs while Olivia Pignatello and Hayley Bustos each scored a run.
