St. Louis man fighting cancer runs in 100th marathon

ST. LOUIS – A St. Louis man battling brain cancer is taking a break from his treatment to run in his 100th marathon.

Badhri Chakravarthy picked up a passion for running nearly one decade ago. He says that running gives him hope as he keeps fighting cancer.

In between December and April, Badhri went through several rounds of chemotherapy and radiation in hopes of getting his lifestyle back.

Prior to this weekend, Badhri has run 99 marathons, which includes events in all 50 states and some internationally. He wanted his 100th marathon to come in his hometown.

Recently, he took a break from cancer treatments to train for Saturday’s Go! St. Louis marathon as an endurance walker. His training has helped in more ways than he could have imagined as he continues to fight the disease.
