It’s true what they say, that all that glitters isn’t gold—sometimes it’s silver. On the Grammys 2024 red carpet, stars took their twinkle seriously, showing up to Los Angeles’s Crypto.com Arena in metallics dazzling enough to rival the night sky. Some stars evoked an ultra-luxe Joan of Arc, like Miley Cyrus in a golden getup reminiscent of chain mail, complete with barely-there shimmering epaulets over her shoulders, and Dua Lipa, dripping in silver shards that would earn her the title of Camelot’s most glamorous knight.
Others, like Alessandra Ambrosio and Victoria Monét opted for a soft contrast to those armored looks elsewhere on the carpet. Ambrosio wore a form-fitting gunmetal silver gown with a flowing train to balance out the dress’s skintight silhouette, and Monét took the bronze with a corset-topped strapless wonder with a sweeping train to complete the fluid look of her gown.
Still another flavor of ultra-sparkly was represented by the likes of Gayle King and Mariah Carey, both of whom opted for all-over beaded silhouettes for their own metallic moments. Jon Batiste, too, wore an allover silver metallic suit, featuring a matte take on metal.
