However, with so many to choose from, finding one within a specific budget can be the most difficult part.

Fortunately Savoo has analysed the cost of an all-inclusive holiday per person across 41 popular destinations to determine the top locations for families this summer.

By analysing the average review scores of hotels and the average cost per person for a week away in August, they were able to show the cheapest spots for getaways.

The study revealed that the cheapest destination for families this year was Alanya in Turkey.

The average cost of a stay in Alanya was £779 on average per person, for an all-inclusive stay this summer.

There’s plenty for people to do once they arrive there too, with waterparks, beaches and caves all there for families to enjoy.

The Water Planet Aqua Park is the biggest waterpark in the region and has 24 water slides in this park.

Meanwhile, younger children can have fun in the special “animation pool”, complete with the toys and slides.

Those who require a little more action than a water slide can pay a little more for an on-site bungee jump.

Alanya isn’t just for adrenaline junkies however, with some of the best beaches in the country found in the region.

Kleopatra Beach was rated the best in Alanya by Hotels.com, who said it explained how it got its name.

They said: “Legend has it that Cleopatra, the Egyptian queen, fell in love with this beach after swimming in its azure waters and sunbathing on its golden sands.”

Portakal Beach and Damlatas Beach also featured on their list to visit in the town.

They said: “Beach lovers visiting Alanya will love the golden sandy beaches and blue seas of this resort town.”

Damlatas isn’t only famous for its beach, with the Damlatas Caves just a 10-minute walk from the shore.

The caves are full of stalactites and stalagmites and have been impressing visitors ever since it was discovered accidentally during mining operations at a quarry in 1948.

They remain a favourite among tourists to this day, with hundreds of them giving it five-star reviews on TripAdvisor.

One said: “Not only is the cave lovely, it was also a great cool-down after a day spent at Cleopatra beach. Don’t miss!”

Another added: “A wonderful place to visit to see all the natural formations of the caves, very cool during the warmer weather.”

Visitors to Alanya also go to the Red Tower, an historical building in the harbour for views over the town.

It is said to be the symbol of the city and appears on its flag.

One of the main reasons Turkey is a cheap holiday destination this year is the price of the pound against the Lira, which has gone from 5.85 TL per £1 in 2018 to a staggering 24.52 TL per £1 in 2023.

The average price for a three-course meal for two costs as little as £26, while a pint is only around £1.45.

Following Alanya on the list of cheapest all-inclusive destinations was Kusadasi, which costs £819 per person on average, while in third place was Benidorm, which came in at £836 per person.
