Sunrise host Nat Barr opens up about missing her kids after they moved out of home

Mother’s Day is on Sunday and it can be a difficult time for those who have recently become empty nesters.

On Friday morning, Sunrise presenter Natalie Barr opened up about no longer living with her children.

The 56-year-old recently helped move her youngest son, Hunter, to Canberra for University.

Her eldest, Andrew, has also moved out and now lives in Melbourne.

Barr revealed she was going to visit one of her sons this weekend, saying that spending time with her kids is a gift.

“I miss them so much,” Barr said.

“I’m going to Canberra to see my little boy.”

The TV host recently joked about being a boy mum on Instagram, posting a photo of a shirt that said, “Bruh, formerly known as Mom”.

She made light of the fact she has two sons, writing, “Definitely boy language 😂🤦‍♀️.. do girls call you this?”

Mother’s Day is not limited to spending time with family; Nat also likes to surround herself with other mums.

“I’m also going to a Coffee Club Sunday morning with a whole bunch of mums, which is fantastic I can’t wait”.

When asked what she was going to have for breakfast, she sheepishly said, “pancakes”.

The Mother’s Day plans conversation came up after ING Bank Money expert Matt Bowen revealed the spending patterns for the annual holiday.

Mr Bowen said 4 per cent of mums can expect flowers for Mother’s Day, and 1 per cent of mums can expect a new PJ set, Seven News reported.
