Britney Spears has shared a photo of an ankle injury telling followers “s*** happens”, sparking new concerns for the singer’s health.
Paramedics were called to the hotel Chateau Marmont, in Los Angeles, in the US, last week when other guests feared she was suffering a mental health episode.
The singer has since said that “news is fake”.

Spears addressed the injury on Monday night.
She said she injured her ankle at the hotel, before she was photographed leaving the building crying, in her pyjamas.
“Some s*** actually has happened to my foot and I might have to get surgery … fingers crossed, hopefully not, but I feel that I was harassed and gas lit and tricked to go on the street when my car was supposed to be there,” the singer wrote on Instagram.
“I was in my pyjamas and, yes, I had been crying because I hurt my foot.
“No breakdown!
“I’m a grown-a** woman who is actually very naive in most situations.
“I am simply embarrassed they (paparazzi) got me in my damn pyjamas.
“I don’t feel loved … I feel mistreated! With that said, I’m going to treat myself this week.”
Fans responded to the news on social media.
“No one can deny she had an injury after seeing that swelling,” one X user said.
“It looks broken, not sprained,” a second wrote.
“Poor Britney, that swelling does look awful,” added a third.
The caption was shared alongside a video of her horse riding.
Spears previously said reports about a mental health breakdown at the hotel were “fake”.
“Just to let people know … the news is fake!!! I would like respect at this time for people to understand I am getting stronger every day … truth sucks, so can someone teach me how to lie?” she said on Instagram on Friday morning.
“I also twisted my ankle last night and paramedics showed up at my door illegally. They never came in my room, but I felt completely harassed. I’m moving to Boston. Peace.”
Photos emerged of the singer wrapped in a blanket, wearing pyjama shorts and clutching a pillow, as she was escorted by emergency services.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesperson Brian Humphrey said: “Emergency services received a call at 12.42am with reports of an adult female injured.
“At 1am, an ambulance arrived at the premises. I can confirm no-one was transported. Services left the scene at 1.17am.
“The police department were not called.”
