Scientists say the chemical theobromine, from cocoa beans, has many health benefits and anti-inflammatory properties that could even be used to treat Alzheimer’s.

Theobromine was found to contribute to weight management by enhancing the body’s ability to break down fats.

The study by Zhengzhou University in eastern China found it also has protective effects on the kidneys, potentially preventing formation of kidney stones.
