The beachfront Wetherspoons that has the ‘best ever views’… from the toilet window

WETHERSPOON bosses have claimed to have found the best view from a toilet at one of their beachside pubs.

Spoons are known for some of their well-preserved historical buildings, but it’s the toilet facilities that the pub chain has been singing the praises of.

In particular, the lavatories at the Reeds Arms in Burnham-on-Sea, which look out over the beach.

It was the company’s founder and chairman Tim Martin who spotted the scenic toilet, while paying a visit to the pub.

He was so enamoured with the view from the loo, that it was included in the latest Wetherspoon newsletter.

It reads: “CAN ANY LOO BEAT THIS VIEW?

“Wetherspoon takes great pride in the restoration and preservation of historic buildings, as well as newer builds, providing comfortable surroundings and excellent facilities for customers.

“Those facilities include quality and high-standard toilets, the majority of which have been awarded in the annual Loo of the Year Awards.

“Across the UK and Ireland, Wetherspoon’s toilets have been judged among the best away-from-home toilet facilities for décor and maintenance, cleanliness and accessibility, as well as overall management.

“However, the awards’ criteria have yet to include the ‘best loo with a view’.

“If it did, The Reeds Arms in Burnham-on-Sea could possibly be eligible for an additional prize, according to Wetherspoon’s founder and chairman Tim Martin.

“After a visit to the Somerset pub, Tim said: ‘The Reeds Arms must have one of the best views, from the loos, which a Wetherspoon pub can offer.’

“Tim’s snapshot out of the window beyond the handbasins offers a great view of the pub’s beautiful coastal location.”

The pub is one of several Spoons establishments found next to the seaside.

Another of which is found in Blackpool, and it has received some praise for its views of the beach.

The boozer is located right next to Blackpool’s South Pier, just metres away from Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Holidaymakers have been describing the Wetherspoons as the “nicest” in particular due to its “beautiful views”.

The pub opened in 2015 and is set across three floors including a bar on each level.

There’s also a beer garden on the ground floor, a balcony on the first floor, and a roof garden on the pub’s highest level.

Meanwhile, the interior decor was inspired by elements from Blackpool’s surroundings like the sea and nearby rollercoasters.

It has an overall score of 4/5 on TripAdvisor reviews with 3,870 people giving it a rating.

And plenty of people have made reference to the beachfront backdrop too.

One wrote: “Great location on the beach with lovely sunset views.”
