The Most Stylish Summer Parties In New York City

New York is the place to be year round, even in summer. Even though the city’s fashionistas are in the Hamptons, this summer has been all about fashion-forward parties, events and style. From rooftop parties to boutique openings and product launches, here are some of the most memorable, stylish parties this summer (so far).

Charli D’Amelio hosts the Tamagotchi Uni Launch Party

Back in the 1990s, the Tamagotchi, a Japanese “digital pet” by Bandai, was all the rage. Now, TikTok star Charli D’Amelio is bringing back the nostalgic toy for a collab called the Tamagotchi Uni. It also includes the Tamaverse, a metaverse-like experience where users can connect to Wi-Fi and to meet other Tamagotchi friends. D’Amelio hosted the launch party of the event in New York with guests like Gio and Eli Rivera, Phaith Montoya, and Carolina Bermudez, among others.

Coachtopia

From July 20 to August 12, luxury brand Coach unveils its new Coachtopia pop up store experience in New York City, which is all about sustainable bags in the circular fashion economy. Designed especially for Coach’s SoHo boutique, their circular design philosophy is core to the brand. Here in this handbag heaven, we see patchwork items made from scrap leather, and other items made from upcycled materials. The space also features one-of-a-kind pieces by artists and Coach collaborators Skilset and Nicole McLaughlin.

One highlight is the Ergo Bag In Wavy Applique Upcrafted Leather. As the first ever Coachtopia destination in North America, this pop-up clearly speaks to the younger generation, which is all about “circular craft and collaborative creativity,” according to the brand. In attendance was fashion entrepreneur Maya Penn, model Richie Shazam, Tiktoker Halley Kate, actor and model Lya Quinones, actor Anthony Ramos, actor Molly Gordon, and more.

“Our Coachtopia space in Soho captures the spirit of possibility and community that I feel makes New York so unique,” said Coach creative director, Stuart Vevers. “The space features circular design philosophies, such as Coach scrap leather reimagined into custom patchwork seating, that lie at the heart of Coachtopia, and explores our heritage through color and texture in a way that feels playful, fresh, and connected to the spirit of today’s generation.”

The 2023 Gordon Parks Foundation Awards Dinner and Gala

This annual gala was held at Cipriani, and had remarks from iconic activist Angela Davis and had attendees like Swizz Beatz, Amy Sherald, Busta Rhymes and Spike Lee, among others. The afterparty was hosted by DJ D-Nice. When Davis took the stage to make remarks, she said: “Nothing I have ever done of any significance have I done as an individual. And, as a matter of fact, the world never changes because of the stances of individuals, whether they be presidents or senators or CEOs. Progressive change always happens because ordinary people stand together, imagine, demand and struggle together.”
