Popular dating app Tinder has launched a new feature that allows users to share their date plans with friends and family straight from the app.
Share My Date — is the new feature rolling out on the Tinder app globally in the coming months and will allow users to send out their planned date details including the location, the date, the time and even a photo of their match.
According to their polling data, more than 51 per cent of singles under 30 let their friends know the details of their dates and one in five Tinder users share their plans with their mothers.
Tinder CMO Melissa Hobley said Share My Date allows users to “streamline basic info sharing” with the ease of sending out date details, so singles can focus on more exciting things like choosing an outfit or preparing conversation topics.
“At Tinder, we continue to release new features that aim to create a fun, safe, and respectful experience for all,” she said.
“Discussing plans with friends and family is a time-honoured dating ritual. Share My Date streamlines this basic info-sharing so singles can jump right to the exciting part, from figuring out what to wear to prepping conversation topics.”
The sharing date feature can also be edited accordingly if plans change last minute.
