Tod’s links with Lamborghini for shoe capsule; RTW and accessories collabs to come

Two Italian luxury labels have unveiled a collaboration and their first footwear collection with leather goods specialist Tod’s and car maker Lamborghini saying that they’re “drawing new boundaries in Italian style”.

The collaboration between the two is available now and begins with a men’s and women’s footwear collection featuring two models, the Tod’s Gommino and a sneaker, available in yellow, green and blue.

And the company said this is just the first collection in a series of project that will evolve to include leather goods and ready to wear collections.

The Gommino comes with a new design inspired by the livery of Lamborghini’s super sports cars and the tubular band work that enhances their aerodynamic appeal. On the soles, the Tod’s distinctive rubber pebbles are larger, matching the colour of the heel or the upper. The leathers feature visible stitching done by hand.

The link-up was launched during a special event coinciding with Pitti Uomo at Florence’s historic Stazione Leopolda.
