Treasurer Jim Chalmers shoots down Premier Roger Cook’s Canberra ‘embassy’ plan in pitch to WA CCI

Federal Treasurer Jim Chalmers has poured cold water on Premier Roger Cook’s plans to establish a WA embassy in Canberra, claiming the hub would “probably not be necessary”.

A fortnight after Mr Cook floated the concept, Mr Chalmers told a Chamber of Commerce and Industry WA lunch, the State was already integral to the deliberations of the Albanese Government.
