Trump Posts Fan Video of Matt Damon Speech Warned Not To Use

Former President Donald Trump posted an over-the-top video themed to his criminal and civil trials that features a Matt Damon film speech that Trump has been warned not to use.

Monday saw the Stormy Daniels hush money-election interference trial being prosecuted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg and presided over by Judge Juan Merchan kick into gear with opening arguments and testimony from former National Enquirer publisher David Pecker.

Trump followed his day in court by posting a dramatic fan video to Truth Social that featured Damon’s speech from the film Air over a montage of Trump clips that included references to the 88 felonies he faces, the civil trials he has lost, and the AI picture of him kneeling in prayer.

The film’s speech ends with Damon telling a young Michael Jordan, “You’re gonna be remembered forever because some things are eternal. You’re Michael Jordan, and your story is gonna make us want to fly.”

But Trump’s version changes that last line:

You’re gonna be remembered forever, because some things are eternal, and your story is gonna make us fight and never give up.

Trump has already been warned by Damon and the film’s studio not to use the speech, because he did it before almost a year ago. The studio released a statement at the time:

We had no foreknowledge of, did not consent to and do not endorse or approve any footage or audio from Air being repurposed by the Trump campaign as a political advertisement. Specifically in terms of any and all rights available to us under US copyright and intellectual property law, we hereby, expressly give notice that in the case of any use of material from Air by the Trump campaign where approval or consent is required, we do not grant such consent.

Damon laughed about the first ad in an interview with Chris Wallace, and was surprised to learned it had not been taken down.
