WA gets new standards for increasing light-vehicle GVM and GCM

Off-roading enthusiasts and caravaners will find it easier to upgrade their four-wheel-drives for big adventures under new standards for light vehicles in Western Australia.

After years of years of lobbying and negotiations by industry bodies, the Department of Transport, working in conjunction with the Motor Trade Association of WA and the Australian Automotive Aftermarket Association, has released two new technical bulletins for increasing the gross vehicle mass (GVM) and gross combination mass (GCM) of an eligible light vehicle (4.5 tonnes or less) registered in the State.
