West Australians may have emerged from a post-Christmas spending slumber in March but behind the slight boost, spending year-on-year has plummeted.
While new figures from Bankwest revealed the number of customers transacting and volume of transactions surged 45 per cent and 47 per cent, respectively, month-on-month in March, the year-on-year figures paint a different picture.
