The latest season of the Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD)—and particularly the reunion special—has seen leading lady Sorisha Naidoo scrutinised over her relationship with her billionaire businessman husband, Vivian Reddy.
The wealthy couple have been married for over two decades and share two teenage children together.
However, rumours on the reality TV show suggested that Sorisha started off her marriage as a “side chick” and “homewrecker.”
SORISHA NAIDOO CLAPS BACK AT ‘SIDE CHICK’ LABEL
In an earlier episode of Real Housewives of Durban (RHOD), housewife Maria Valaskatzis and her friend Neil Ramautar are seen gossiping about Sorisha Naidoo’s marriage to Vivian Reddy.
In one clip, Neil referred to Sorisha as a “side chick,” “homewrecker,” and “slut”.
The make-up artist was referring to rumours that Sorisha allegedly began dating Vivian while he was still married to his first wife, Mogi Naidoo.
Clapping back in the second installment of the RHOD reunion, Sorisha addressed both Maria and Neil over their unfounded rumours.
Sorisha: “He upset my husband. My husband loves me to bits and pieces. He will jump off a cliff for me. That’s the love he has for me”.
Labelling Neil a “clout chaser,” Sorisha continued, “I’m not a side chick. They [Vivian and Mogi] were separated.”

Neil later appeared in a segment of the show where he addressed Sorisha: “I apologise for what I did and said. It was uncalled for. I mean this sincerely.”

VIVIAN REDDY’S SPLIT FROM FIRST WIFE
In 2003, Vivian Reddy and Sorisha Naidoo tied the knot.
Before their wedding, Vivian was married to first wife Mogie Naidoo for 28 years, he revealed to Post. The couple have three adult children together.
In an interview with Dali Tambo on People of The South in 2012, Vivian revealed he had parted with his wife on good terms.
“Mogi was the administrator of my business. She also looked after our children, and there was always support.”
He later told the Post: “Before Mogi and I separated, I consulted with my children. People divorce all the time, but it is the manner in which you do it that makes the difference”.
Meanwhile, Sorisha Naidoo would later tell IOL in 2013 of being labelled a “gold-digger”: “I welcome it. It used to haunt me, but I don’t care now. I always earned a reasonably good salary, and I’ve never stopped working.”
She also claimed that during their courtship, Vivian revealed to her that he was separated from his wife. However, she did not question him as it was “none of my business”.
In 2021, the Daily Maverick was forced to issue an apology to Sorisha Naidoo after it alleged that she “married Vivian for money.”
