The South African Weather Service (SAWS) says isolated showers are expected along the east coast (KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape) with drizzle along the escarpment of Mpumalanga on Wednesday, 9 August. Meanwhile, saws has issued a Yellow Level 1 warning for damaging waves in the Western Cape and Northern Cape. The warning is valid from Tuesday, 8 August until Thursday, 10 August. The weather service said South-westerly swell of 4 – 4.5m with a period of 15 seconds is expected along the coast between Alexander Bay and Cape Agulhas from Tuesday evening, 8 August, spreading to Plettenberg Bay on Wednesday morning, 9 August while subsiding on Thursday, 10 August.
