Wedding of the Week: Breathtaking South West wedding features a helicopter

Rose Paley, 30, and Ben Pilatti, 32

Ben and Rose, who met as students, began dating 12 years ago.

They got engaged at a secluded Pemberton retreat with their dog Charlie, and two years later their four-day ‘WedFest’ in the South West kicked off their celebrations.

Arriving at the ceremony on New Year’s Eve in a friend’s Volkswagen Kombi, the couple shared a romantic first look at Boranup Forest.

The intimate ceremony included Dutch poetry and Italian folk singing reflecting their heritage. After a helicopter ride for sunset photos at Injidup, they enjoyed a romantic garden party reception with a BBQ feast and Italian cannoli made by Ben’s mother. Emotional speeches were followed by dancing into the New Year.

A lazy brunch at Fairlawn Estate the next day wrapped up their six days of festivities that Rose and Ben describe as a “perfect celebration of love and family”.
