Weston-super-Mare is a popular seaside destination for British holidaymakers thanks to its sandy beach and amusement arcade.

Located on Beach Road, the indoor attraction will be a miniature recreation of the town.

The miniature town will feature several local landmarks, including the Grand Pier and the town hall, with other buildings set to include a vet, a police station, a fire station, a supermarket and a café.

Little Town Adventures has been described as a combination of escape room style activity, theatre and role play thanks to its 5m-high buildings.

The buildings will have multiple storeys, allowing the children to explore both lower and upper levels.

Children will also be asked to solve a series of interactive challenges in a bid to help the town’s deputy mayor.

The seaside experience will also feature live actors, music and scripts, which have been developed by a theatre company.

Aimed at children aged between two to twelve, Little Town Adventures will open on May 11, 2024.

Other information such as opening times and prices have yet to be revealed.

Little Town Adventures is the brainchild of husband-and-wife duo, Tom and Laura Filer.

Laura said: “Little Town Adventures is an innovative fully immersive miniature Weston-super-Mare putting learning and fun at the centre of the experience.

“The combination of role play, theatre, and escape room-style activities enhances cognitive development, social skills, and creativity, making it an exciting, truly holistic and educational adventure for children.”

Seven underrated towns you need to visit

In 2019, Laura and Tom founded the award-winning Family Adventures Group and have opened other indoor attractions, including Ocean Adventures in Cheddar and Space Adventures in Taunton.

Until Little Town Adventures opens later this week, there are plenty of other things to do in Weston Super Mare, including the Grand Pier.

There are plenty of rides and attractions inside the amusement space, including a laser maze, a house of horrors, a mini golf course, a helter-skelter skelter and a crystal maze.

Other attractions in the seaside town include Weston-super-Mare beach – a large sandy beach that holds several events throughout the year.

Weston-super-Mare is a 40-minute drive from Bristol, and it’s an hour’s drive from Gloucester.

And Little Town Adventures isn’t the only new attraction opening in the UK later this year.

Other new attractions

Earlier this year, plans to build a 650m zipline in Scarborough’s North Bay were approved by councilors.

Standing at 35m high, the brand-new experience is expected to run from the former Mr Marvel’s Leisure Park to south of the Scalby Mills Miniature Railway Station.

The attraction will have several ziplines and is expected to be up and running by the summer holidays.

Meanwhile, last month the UK’s best-value theme park released images of a brand-new water ride that’s set to open this year.

Paultons Park in Hampshire is the UK’s best-rated theme park, according to TripAdvisor, and it’s also one of the best value days out.

And its value-for-money is set to increase when Splash Lagoon, the theme park’s brand-new water ride, opens next month.

Set to open on May 18, 2024, the Jurassic-themed flume ride will take park-goers through meandering rapids before heading down a final drop into a ‘prehistoric’ lagoon.

Five new water attractions opening in the UK next year

  1. Therme Manchester will have 25 swimming pools, 25 water slides and an indoor beach.
  2. Modern Surf Manchester will be a surfing lagoon offering lessons to both beginners and experts.
  3. Chessington World of Adventures waterpark is set to have wave, infinity and spa pools as well as waterslides and cabanas.
  4. The Cove Resort, Southport is likely to have a water lagoon and a thermal spa with steam rooms and saunas.
  5. The Seahive, Deal plans to be the “surfing wellness resort” in the UK.

Meanwhile, one forgotten seaside town in the south of England has won praise by a former Bond girl – it has sandy beaches and ferry links to Europe.
