Woman struck and killed by vehicle in early-morning N.J. accident

A woman was killed after being struck by a vehicle Saturday in an early-morning accident in Gloucester Township, police said.

The incident was reported at 2:51 a.m. at the intersection of the Old Black Horse Pike at Landing Road.

Officers found the victim on the road when they arrived, unconscious and suffering from severe head injuries, police said. The victim’s name was not immediately reported.

The driver remained on the scene and was not injured, police said. Old Black Horse Pike was closed for several hours during the investigation.
